1999 Revisited?

"They better sweep us, because if we win one, they're in trouble." - Jimy Williams, October 1999, after the Sox went down 0-2 to the Cleveland Indians.

That was the fabulous battle cry Williams used four years ago to fire the Sox up. We all know how that series ended! Apparently, the 2003 version of the Red Sox want to do the same thing. Here's your chance boys. You certainly have more firepower than the 1999 squad, but can you come through? Can you "cowboy up," as you all love to say?

Here's hoping for a huge victory Saturday night... because thanks to my cousin Josh, I have tickets in transit to me at this very moment for Sunday's game! Joshie rules! I can only hope it won't be the third time I've seen the Sox go down in the playoffs to end a season (1995 ALDS, 1999 ALCS). I'd much rather see a repeat of that glorious time in October of 1999 when the Sox bats came alive and pennant fever once again gripped Red Sox Nation. Sigh. I love me those Sox... now get to work, boys!
